How lovely, how true... The poignancy of socks... I will be reconsidering my own husbands "flings", his wayward socks with a lighter heart. ;o) Is this mostly a male habit I wonder, to throw socks?...hhhmmm... Happy week, Alaine :o) ((HUGS))
A dream, simple things that matter, thinking ahead and I'm always one espousing the value of living for the day, not the past or the future! But sometimes it doesn't work that way....
A poignant choice of words, but apt as you say. Have just been catching up with the many chests and the pics of the dust storm. That looks awful, unrelenting. Meanwhile, Manila is being washed away!
Hi Derrick, hope we don't get too many dust storms but our dry season is coming up. Flood would be so frightening.
On the bright side, after 13 years of drought, we had our wettest September in nine years! It rained all day Sunday and I don't think anybody complained!
I lost my true love some time ago and it was surprising just how many things I took for granted. How sweet that you take notice of the small and fragile day to day signs of life. It's what I like best about your blog. Sweet!
Alaine, I have been so busy with school...but today I escaped... It is Saturday morning...and guess what? I have strolled with you in Australia...read up on Beethoven, seen your bird photos, and read poetry about endearing socks...I find a pair every morning too....I loved being here. Absolutey gorgeous blog!
Hello Firelight! So glad you had a quiet time from your busy school days to have a look around. The work you're doing is so worthwhile. Thanks for your nice comments and have a happy week!

Wow Alaine - that made me gulp. Amazing when the right image and a few choice words combine - the impact they can have. Great post!
I didn't mean to shock anyone. I just grin every morning and pick them up but I realised the other day that one day I mightn't have that pleasure.

Life's just a dream, anyway..God, Buddha dreaming us....I'm glad..
It is hard to imagine that scene then.

Oh, Maggie, you're sweet for saying so and I'm sorry that you lost your love.
Lovely haiku, Alaine. It made me smile. Strange the things we miss when our loved ones are gone.
