Last week we spent five days on the Gold Coast
(a little over an hour down the coast from Brisbane in Queensland)
visiting our Son for his Birthday.

On Sunday morning we went for a walk along the beach.

We arrived at 6:45am, just as the sun was coming up.

Looks like you had a grand time, Alaine...so glad! These images are breathtaking...that light and sky...*sigh*...Happy Days ((HUGS))
Hello Tracy,
It is a lovely place, Queensland and yes, we came home to relax!
Hi Alaine
your walk along Main Beach looks very familiar. A few years back we had a unit in the Waterford tower. The tall skinny green one with a Chinese Looking hat/roof. It was a great location.
Your sunrise shots are fresh and stunning...
It looks like quite a celebration...
Happy days

P.S.
The new photo is also very lovely...
Very pretty. The sunrise is very gorgeous.
We are in a drought here but thankfully not 13 years. It is all so frightening what with the worldwide warming. Best to you.
hello alaine, what a beautiful post. the photographs are breathtaking! i wandered through some of your other postings and i love the eclectic feel as you gather all sorts from all over! i'm looking forward to returning! have a lovely day!! steven
Gorgeous photos! I'm now suffering some serious beach envy and crave digging my feet into some of that luxurious sand.
What a lucky day..your words and photos depict so much happiness!Love the footprint in the sand, the early dawn...
Delwyn, My DIL had a unit at Main Beach too, met some firm friends and had some great times there.
Lizzy, it is worrying, Melbourne's desperate for water all year through now.
Hello Steven, lovely to meet you and I must visit you.
Willow, it's the most beautiful experience when you're hours from the sea. My son told his wife that it was like taking the kids to the beach, stopping to pick up shells, paddling and taking photos!
Hi Lyn, best time of the day, the dawn. It was magic.
Hi Alaine,
Lovely photographs - but on the beach at 6.45am?!! Gluttons for punishment, or what!
Derrick, we're always up and at it at that time. It's 6:43am now and we're off for a walk around the Pondage very shortly. It's the best time of the day!!
What stunning photos, such a beautiful place! Nothing quite like a stroll across sands with the sun coming up. Looks as though you had a wonderful time with your son. I am so missing my eldest, but yay we are off to visit her in september. cannot wait.
Hello Ruthie, thanks for your visit. It was great catching up with our Son as we only see him once or twice a year. Have a wonderful time with your daughter in September.
Warm wishes,
Alaine
