How really exciting all of this is. To be able to see so much wildlife in natural surroundings must be wonderful. Your images, though, are the very next best thing! As you say, the quail is completely disguised, totally merging into the background.

Jane and Lance....it is very special to see them and we'd normally drive on but, of course, I was thinking of my blog friends overseas when I took the photos. And the quail, there were three, thanks to my husband's sharp eye.

Nancy...lovely to see you here! We have them grazing in our back paddock quite often; they come down for the juicier green grasses on the flats.
