Exit Stage Left....

White Heron visiting yesterday afternoon

Exit Stage Left

Noun:  An orderly and uneventful departure,
timed so as not to detract or distract.

Verb:  To exit or disappear in a quiet, non-dramatic fashion,
making way for more interesting events.

Etymology:  From the direction in theatrical scripts:
"Exit stage left", thus marking the
disappearance of a character from the stage
in the normal manner.

I've enjoyed my three years of blogging but times change, people change and I'm enjoying reading and studying more than the time-consuming creative process (I'll still have to keep my hand in with my husband's website, though!).  Following Michael's recent health scare and surgery, we'll be making the effort to spend more time outdoors and exercising; we spend too much time sitting at our computers!

Thank you to those who have stayed along the way; I've made some wonderful blog friends, will still be reading your lovely posts and, if you ever want a chat, I'd be so happy to hear from you via email.  Wishing you all much happiness.

Love,

Dear Alaine,
What a gracious and original exit you make. I wish you tremendous happiness with your more active days but I’ll miss your beautiful mixture of art and nature. I’ve always felt a tug of war when it comes to blogging. On one hand there’s the lure of companionship and couching of ideas that blogging permits and on the other, the rejection of the time-devouring, flat-bottomed computer world that cries out to move and see in 3-D. I figure I have a few more things I’d like to treat, but I truly understand your decision. Every moment is so precious - and then, you are always free to come back! Love and happiness to you, G

Shall miss your posts, Alaine. Thank you for explaining your departure from blogging...not knowing would have raised concern. Time is such a factor, my reason for posting only twice a month sometimes! Hearing from you every now and then would be nice!

Smiles and good wishes to you and yours! Wanda

Dear Alaine,
Just back from my trip to Germany.

Sad to hear the news about your blogging, but fully understand!!!

Actually, I'm thinking quite for a while to have a break as well. As you rightly said it is so time consuming, and we all should slow down our life, time is passing by faster and faster these days.

I will certainly miss your posts, the landscapes, the birds!!!, the poems, just simply all.
Will read all your recent posts quietly during the next days, had just a quick look today.

It would be lovely to stay in touch. And we hear from each other here and there....
As you know I'm not a good and great writer, mildly spoken, but you'll stay in my mind.

I hope that everything will go well with you and Michael and that his health is improving step by step.

All my best wishes, take care,
heartily greetings and a bientôt,
karin

Gésbi, Angela, Wanda, Karin and Yvonne……thanks to you all for dropping in to wish me well. Now and then I’ll visit your blogs and, when we’re settled in our new home, perhaps I’ll feel more relaxed and take up blogging again.

Thanks again, you’re all lovely ladies, your blogs diverse and I love them all for that reason!

♥Alaine

P.S. Michael’s recovery has been amazing…I think I can now hang up the nurse’s uniform!

Aah, I am very sorry to hear that you are withdrawing from your blog, Alaine. It has been an absolute pleasure to read, both for the beautiful art and cultural links and also for teaching me a little about your lovely part of the world, which I knew as a tiny child and had since almost forgotten. Thank you for bringing much happiness.

I do understand your decision to stop, and I wish you and your family all the very best with recovery/ new house and all the other important claims on your time. And if/ when you feel like it again, I hope you'll pop over to Dancing Beastie from time to time to say hello!

db....sorry for the tardy reply. Thankyou for your kind words; I've also enjoyed reading about your home in Scotland...I come in occasionally and will still be reading my favourite blogs. Trust you had a lovely Christmas and wish you every happiness and good health in 2012!

Yvonne...many thanks for your Christmas wishes and trust that you had a lovely day. It was hot and stormy here but I'll bet it's cold over there....keep warm! All the best for 2012, may you keep well and happy!

Dear Alaine,
very belated Christmas Greetings!

All my best wishes for you and Michael for lovely and peaceful Holidays between "the years" (this is an old say in German which means between Christmas and New year).

Will send you later a special email.

For now, hope that everything is going well at your end and that Michael is recovering or has recovered by now.

Warmest greetings and all my best wishes,
xxxkarin

Alaine, I will miss your blog and the beauty that you have provided. I have nominated you for the Versatile Blogger Award due to the gorgeous blog that you have done for so long. Pop by and grab the award if you like. Thank you so much. xx

Hello Meg, thank you for your nomination; I went looking but couldn't find mention of it but, no matter, the thought was lovely.

I've switched to the new Fb Timeline page and your two pages are there for all to see under 'Likes' - Meg's Threads and Living Green & Thrifty, so I'll still be following you along the way!!

All the best,
Alaine x

Hello Jérôme,

How lovely of you to get in touch...yes, I'm OK, as I hope you are! We are kept busy keeping our property up to scratch as it's still 'on the market'. We have just spent a week away on the other side of the State, my husband lake fishing and me, reading and walking. I come in to "éclectique" regularly to see how my blog friends are doing....one day I'd like to return; when we're settled in our new house perhaps.

Best wishes and fond thoughts,
Alaine x

Alaine, I am thinking about just visiting, writing a blog takes such time and it is almost not worth the time when so many don't visit.

Hello Yvonne, I enjoyed blogging immensely but you're so right, it does take up so much of your time and I felt I was sitting too much! I still visit my favourites; love Renée's and have visited you too...it always makes me smile! Don't delete it, will you!

Cheers,
Alaine
