The Dresser holds some Childhood Treasures...

One for the girls. I had a bee in my bonnet to change a few things around. I moved furniture; even the very heavy, old Ronisch piano; it hadn't been moved for nearly 11 years and I was amazed (I mean horrified!) at the intricate nests that moths make!

The image above is of 'Rosebud', a gift from Mrs. McIlhiney who lived next door in the 50s. She visited Scotland annually and brought this little Scottish highland dancer back especially for me. I called her Rosebud because the pink box she came in said 'Rosebud'. The Rosebud Doll Company was a British firm in the 1950s, taken over by Mattel in 1966. The dolls are now a collectors' item.

We were always supervised when handling the duck; its wings move, the head swivels and the horn comes out of his mouth. My grandchildren were supervised too; that's why it's still 'as new'.

My brother's Peter Piper cup and Bunnykins set - he's 69 this year!

It's wonderful to have childhood treasures, I have a few myself. I especially like the Bunnykins set. It's lovely! Does your brother know you have it? :)

Wanda...Hi, yes, he knows it's there. All of Mum's crockery ended up with me; my brothers weren't interested in it.

That's a lovely collection you have, Alaine! Surely you didn't move that piano by yourself! There are pieces of furniture in my house that I'm terrified to move, not knowing what might lurk behind them! You're a brave one! ;)

Susan...It was hard to budge but was easier when it had moved out of the four ruts! Yes, I think a photo of the moths' nests would have made a better post than this one!! Thank you for visiting and hope you are enjoying the start of Spring.

Alaine, thank you for sharing a peep at your treasures, i especially love the peter piper cup, it is very like the style of some of the china i collect, if and when i am lucky enough to come across a piece.

Ruthie...when it comes to uncluttering my life, if my daughter doesn't want it, I'll send it to you. It's made by Royal Art Pottery, Longton England and I just learnt that they operated between 1897-1915 so it must be older than I thought and probably passed down to my brother.

Hi, Alaine! Having trouble leaving a comment, so will try again... Just love seeing all your pretty treasures gathered so lovingly, and hearing about them. :o) At the moment I'm doing some spring cleaning, de-cluttering, re-organizing, etc. I think I'm making more mess than progress though...LOL! Happy Days ((HUGS))

Tracy...it's nice to sit back at the end of it and be pleased with what you've done. I love the way my formal dining room looks with the change around.
