Happy Easter to you and yours, Alaine!
Dear Alaine,It is still another three hours and forty minutes before it is Friday here on this side of the Pacific. My heart seemed to stop upon seeing the German romantic artist Friedrich. Thought the scene is very melancholy, there is a silence and stillness that is so very beautiful.Wishing you a wonderful Easter holiday weekend,Egmont
Wonderful and well chosen picture to depict Good Friday.
Willow...thinking of you this Easter in Ohio; have a special time with family.
Egmont...how lovely of you to respond. Special Easter greetings to you, your wife and family.
Rall...wherever you are, you'll find beauty. Thank you for visiting again; have a lovely Easter.
Hi Alaine,Something would appear to "up" with your Blogger background this morning, unless it's me! However, that doesn't prevent me from wishing you and your husband a Happy Easter!
I wish you a happy and blessed Easter! xx Gypsy Purple
Gypsy...how lovely! Have a wonderful Easter in South Africa!
Derrick...there has been some hiccups with the new templates. I notice that you use IE8, I use Firefox. I went and had a look in IE8 but all seems to be OK. Hope it's righted itself in your computer. Sometimes you wonder how other people see you, haha, in more ways than one! Happy Easter in Scotland!
happy easter alaine - the painting is new to me and i love it!!! steven
Steven...isn't it lovely; seek him out - he's called the German romantic landscape artist. Enjoy your Easter break.
I like Caspar Friedrich so much – his paintings have the right mood and soft colors. He is quite a romantic in his paintings although some of his scenes look a little bit like science fiction, don’t you think so?
Beautiful painting. Happy Easter, Alaine!
Vagabonde...Some of his paintings are a little surreal but the majority I love. He certainly catered for many different tastes!
Nancy...thank you and return wishes for a Happy Easter!
Love this painting, so atmospheric. happy (belated) easter wishes to you too x
Ruthie...thank you and I do hope that you had a peaceful Easter break. I'm just about to put a girly post up about some childhood treasures and one is a Scottish doll I was given when a little girl.
