Paul...thank you, you're a honey! I've just picked a lovely bouquet of red roses, their last flush before winter.

I hope that you have a great Mother's Day also. It seems as though the weather will be nice. You're starting into Winter there though so not Spring blooms everywhere like we have now. I guess it's what you grow up with though. Christmas when it is sunny...Mother's Day when it is raining. So those sayings like "April showers bring May flowers" don't hold up for you do they! Maybe you have your own sayings. I love the birds. Do you rescue them?

MG...Happy Mother's Day, Karen - feel loved!

Teri....thanks and the same to you. It's sunny here at the moment and they say tomorrow will be lovely, no rain until Monday.

In a way we rescue the birds; they seem to know where to come when they need help. My husband only throws them crumbs and wild bird seed but some are so sick, their droppings are full of blood. At the moment we have Scruff, whose feathers are falling out. He must be so cold on the frosty nights we've been having. There is another whose feathers are starting to fall out; and has only one yellow feather in his crest - we call him Spike.

Unfortunately, some of the orchardists and wine growers around here throw them bread filled with poison! We just found this out the other day. Can you believe it??! I was shocked.

Back to the vacuuming - I don't want to be working tomorrow!
