Lemon tree, very pretty.....

I learnt something new today (don't we keep learning!) and that is if you feed citrus while they're in flower, you'll get plenty of flowers but little fruit! What are your thoughts? I'll keep this in mind when throwing the citrus food around.

hi alaine - my knowledge of citrus plants is extremely limited as the closest i get to them is at the shops. they won't grow here do to the climate. i'm sure that a bloggy chum will enlighten you though. for my part - thanks for the glorious yellow!!!!! steven

Hi Alaine,

Not being particularly green fingered, I can't really say, but I think I've heard a similar idea about plants too, where the wrong timing/type of feeding can produce an abundance of foliage but no flowers!

I can't grow my own, trapped in the concrete city..
but yesterday I had a charming experience..standing behind woman at checkout at market, she buying a huge bouquet of tulips..I admired, and she removed one and gave it to me on a freezing NYC day. Nice, huh? Now in bud vase on my desk!

Steven...I'm sure someone out there will have all the answers!

Derrick..thankyou, anyway! I know you have to keep the water up to them and I wonder if that other old tale really helps......

Lyn...they grow well in pots if you had a sunny window. That was a lovely gesture by that lady; wish there was more of it today.

wow...who would have ever known! No citrus trees here in my Ohio yard, so no worries about that here! Your photo is beautiful!

Betsy.. thanks for popping in. I must tell you, though, that it's not my tree; I found the pic on Google Ripper! I'm trying to get my tree to look the same; must go out and do some nipping and watering!
