Merry Christmas, Much Love & Best Wishes for 2010!!
Hearty wishes to all of the wonderful bloggers I've met since my first post on 19th December 2008! From the very beginning I had so much encouragement from a handful of 'seasoned bloggers' and that grew, although slowly, with more like-minded people following my journal of bits and pieces that interested me and, I thought, might be of interest to others.

I've so enjoyed working in this wonderful medium that has brought the world and many lovely people into my home, virtually! Sharing my little speck on the globe with you and being welcomed so warmly into yours has enriched my life in so many ways; I've learnt so much about the world through research, been introduced to many great artists and poets and laughed and cried reading your posts.

I'm going to take a break for a while and trace my Mother's family tree; something that I've always wanted to do. I have my Father's side and my paternal Grandmother's, with a lot of work by my cousin and now is the time to complete the picture.

I'll be reading your posts each morning with my coffee, toast and vegemite! Festive greetings to you all and blessings for 2010 and beyond.

Love,

Oh, I will miss you Alaine! But I understand that doing genealogical research can be all-consuming. I will keep an eye out for your return.

All the best over the holiday season to you and yours. Are those your parrots in that amazing Christmas wreath??

It's been a joy to connect with you this way...Thank you.

Thank you, Bonnie, it's been lovely 'talking' to you.

Oh dear, I meant to mention that it wasn't my photo; I'll fix that now!

What a wonderful wreath!

My daughter's parrots are about to go home to her and I'm sure that I'll miss them. Birds do have a way of nestling into your heart.

Good luck on your genealogical journey! I work on mine occasionally but it's like a black hole for time. I'll sit down for a couple of minutes and look up to find that hours have passed. But, it's so satisfing to add a name or place to what makes you you.

Blackbird, how lovely to hear from you! You were one of the first to talk to me here! I know it's going to be a challenge but exciting! I went to a site this morning and typed in my Grandmother's first name and surname and the result told me her second name and where she was buried (which I already knew) but one has to join up to find out more, of course. I'll do so in the new year when the festive season is over. Have a happy season! xa

That is the most beautiful wreath Alaine, thank you for posting the photo. I've been blogging just a year this Dec. too.
While you are away, I will be reading all of your past posts, which will be new to me, since I am a new follower.
We traced our family tree on my mother's side, back to the American Indian Princess Pocahontas and John Rolfe of England. It's a very time consuming to trace the different lines. Enjoy your search!

Merry Christmas, Alaine! And Happy 1st Blog Anniversary!

I will certainly miss seeing your lovely posts and I do hope this is not a permanent move. Please rejoin the blog world when your quest is, dare I say, finished. If one ever finishes a family history! I know my son has been working on our whole families since he was 14 and he is now 34. There's a lot out there to be discovered.

I wish you well in your endeavours and look forward to hearing from you now and then.

Happy hunting!

Love, Susan

Hi Alaine,

For some reason, I'm late getting here but not too late to wish you and your family a very Merry Christmas and luck and happiness in the New Year.

No matter whose photo that is, it's a wonderful Christmas wreath.

Alaine, that image really made me smile. Good luck with researching your family tree, a fascinating thing to do, my mom has managed to go way back on ours, but it meanns there is no investigation for me, so i have decided to start on Mr o's tree. Wishing you a wonderful christmas and a fab new year. x x

Thank you all for your good wishes and I do hope that you're not shut up inside too long with all that snow falling - it's all so foreign to me! We're shut inside with the airconditioner today! My love and best wishes to you all for 2010 and beyond. xa
