Australian violinist Ray Chen, 20, has won Belgium's Queen Elisabeth music competition, one of the world's most prestigious and toughest classical events.
Chen, who took up the violin at age four, overcame 68 rivals from 24 countries to win $35,500, the chance to play several concerts, record a CD and a three-year loan of a priceless Stradivarius violin. - Melbourne Herald Sun 2nd June 2009
