THE NEW DAY

Morning has broken, like the first morning
Blackbird has spoken, like the first bird
Praise for the singing, praise for the morning
Praise for the springing fresh from the word
Sweet the rain's new fall, sunlit from heaven
Like the first dewfall, on the first grass
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass
Mine is the sunlight, mine is the morning
Born of the one light, Eden saw play
Praise with elation, praise every morning
God's recreation of the new day
As Sung by Cat Stevens - Lyrics by Eleanor Farjeon
The view from my desk this morning

I adore this song. And wonderful, mystical, foggy autumn mornings, as well.

Lovely autumn morning! I like the arbor. What is growing there?

Beautiful lyrics and images! :-)

It is so interesting to see how a beautiful autumn morning has broken for you, and here the summer is at our door steps!

Sang this in Grade 7 choir.
Sometimes run across it in church.

Hi Susan, an ornamental grape and sultana grape. It looks glorious when the whole arbour is red.

Premium T. I like yours too. Tried to leave a comment but it took ages, 'waiting for blogger'. This happens a lot, don't know if anyone else has the same problem.

Willow and Hazel, I think of this song often in the morning. We get up so early, the best part of the day.

Hello Merisi, thankyou for visiting. Yes, it will be Winter next month but I'm looking forward to it after an awful, dry, hot, tragic Summer. It was very cold this morning but invigorating.

I popped over to your site; very nice photography.

Well chosen, this is one of my all time favourite songs, love cat stevens early work. that is an incredible view from your desk, beautiful, looks so ethereal in that light too x
