  2. They've come by and brought all of their friends to visit you. They are so pretty in flight. I can only imagine the amounts of seed you must go through...for the love of the beautiful creatures. It seems they appreciate you very much.

  3. Attractive birds but quite noisy though. The photo could be made a very romantic painting. You managed to capture the "moment".

  4. you have no idea how cool this looks to someone like me in the USA. Those birds are exotic to us...only seen in pet stores with a huge price tag on them! Lovely...just so very cool! ..not to mention the scenery in your yard!

  5. Incredible to see so much life there right in front of you. Bird watching is a great thing to do. We have recently discovered so many more birds here at our new place but nothing quite as spectacular as what you have there. How lucky you are!

  9. Jane and Lance...at the risk of boring some with another bird post, I just had to share!

  10. Karena....they know where to come! This flock was feeding on broad-leaf dock. We buy a 5kg bag of seed once a fortnight and throw some out to the 'regulars' morning and afternoon.

  11. DeeBee L...they can get quite noisy; annoying when you're trying to have an afternoon nano-nap!

  12. Betsy...I know! I believe they sell for $10,000 each!

Our yard is showing a typical winter day; not much colour here at present, except for the green grass and the white cockies!

  13. Teri...it's a great thing to do. Before we came here, I had no idea birds could be so fascinating; their antics and habits are a pleasure to observe.

  22. Hi Renée...as soon as they're spooked, I click. I love capturing their splayed wings, even though a little blurred!
