Taj's beach visit; Hubby recovering....

Tajma Hall

Husband Michael has been in hospital the past two weeks and had his bypass last Thursday - a quintuple!!  The hospital is 2 1/2 hours from our home in the country and the turn-around trip is quite exhausting.  Our friends, Rick and Mani, kindly invited Taj and I to stay over. While I visited Mike, Rick and the little girls, Amber, Lauren and Bianca took Taj for a walk to the beach and the park.

He loved the waves!

Yawn!  I'm pooped!!

I'm happy to say that Mike is doing well; he told me that "the dreaded Physio" was coming this morning to get him on his feet.  It will be a long haul but I'm sure he will feel great down the track and get back into his flyfishing.

  1. Dear Alaine,
First I'm so pleased to hear that your husband is recovering and everything went well so far! Good health for him.

Your post is so lively - I love it! Looks as you have a good and hopefully relaxed time while staying with your friends and Taj!
    Take care and warmest greetings,
    You are in my mind,

  2. Karin...thank you for your kind wishes. I'm really happy that he's improving with every day!

I haven't been reading or commenting much lately, for which I apologise.

Yes, staying with friends really broke up the long return trip and I wasn't as tired when I got home.

    Fondly,
    Alaine

  3. Wishing your husband a smooth and quick recovery, Alaine. My husband had quadruple bypass surgery just before Christmas last year... this summer found him cutting trees for firewood and back to his normal routine. Take care, Alaine, it's a stressful time of worry for the wife as well.

  4. Oh...I'm so sorry to hear of this. I realized that I hadn't heard from you for a long time but I thought that perhaps you had done a move. I am sitting in the waiting room as I type this waiting for Bill's surgery to be over but fortunately, it is just a hand and not a heart. Stressful, nonetheless.

  5. Oh my goodness! I'm so glad your poor husband is recuperating well. That's quite an ordeal with such a major bypass. And that's also quite a trip to the hospital. Sending healing prayers out to you.

Little Taj is just the cutest! I've told my hubby that my next dog has to be a pug. I'm totally in love with the breed! Vanna

  6. Wanda...Oh, yes, I know about the stress...a real estate agent came the other day and said I looked as though I had the world on my shoulders. So glad to hear that your husband is back doing things he loves.

  7. Teri...I've been reading the occasional blog post but my mind has been elsewhere.

My goodness, hands are precious! Do hope he hasn't hurt it badly but they perform miracles these days! All the best to Bill and you...

  8. Vanna...thank you for your thoughts; the faster he heals, the happier I'll be!

Taj is just the most amazing little dog. Our last dog was a full Pug but Taj is a Pugalier, a cross between a Pug and a King Charles Cavalier. Yes, he looks 99% Pug but has a longer snout, which helps his breathing, smaller eyes and longer legs. His coat is so soft and he is so affectionate that it just makes you melt!

  10. alaine - my dad had a quad so not quite a quint. it was quite a process. the walking was key to his recovery - mental and physical. there was a feeling of failure in his knowing of himself, that he had somehow not done things right. he was correct in fact but that wasn't the point really was it!!! a careful and complete recovery is all i wish for your man!! steven

  11. Renée....I was in the middle of answering you when we had a power failure and lost it! Thank you for your kind words. Yes, I'm sure his little dog will help his recovery and I'll have to practise patience with my patient!

  18. What lovely happy beach photos. I'm sorry to hear what a stressful time you have been having recently, though. (I well remember the strain of hospital visits when my dad had cancer.) Wishing your husband a steady recovery and a merry old age to come!
